When you’re thinking about attending university there are several factors you should take into consideration. Finding the best institution for yourself should depend upon your unique needs. The cost, the quality of the education, reputation of the college and percentage of graduates who find jobs are a few items to factor in. There are some universities that you should stay away from, even if they’re more affordable or nearer to where you live.

Just as there are some universities categorized as best, there are also some worst private and public universities and colleges in Nigeria that you should be aware of. The importance of this is to be informed in your decision-making process as you register for your next JAMB examination.

There is no point in attending a university that the commissioning body (NUC) has listed to be among the worst universities, especially where there are options of the best, highly-ranked universities to choose from.

10. Christopher University

Christopher University is among the worst universities in Nigeria. The university is not as popular as many other universities in the country, however, it has a certain level of academic excellence and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

9. Dominican University

Even in Ibadan the Oyo state capital where the University is located, many people are still not aware of Dominican University.

Its a private institution in Nigeria that provides a variety of undergraduate programs, but there are many courses that are either not accredited by the National Universities Commission or were not developed by the university.

Some of the courses offered in the University include Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Criminology, Mass Communication, Geography, Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Political Science and International Science, Public Administration, and Sociology.

8. Kwarafa University, Wukari

Kwarafa University makes it to the list of the worst ever universities in Nigeria because the majority of the top courses it claims to offer are not accredited thereby defeating the purpose of going to school to acquire quality education.

7. Clifford University

Clifford university occupies the 7th position in the list of the worst universities in Nigeria.

The institution is a newly chartered institution by the Ministry of Education. The majority of the courses available in the university are not accredited.

6. Eastern Palm University

Eastern palm university, located in Imo State, is a Nigerian institution with a public and private partnership. It also runs undergraduate degree courses of which some are not accredited.

4. Legacy University, Okija

The Legacy University is a Private University located in Okija. Although the school is accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), most of the courses are yet to be accredited.

The legacy university has 19 Undergraduates programs with an unknown number of postgraduate courses.

Hence, It is the 4th worst university in Nigeria.

3. Hezekiah University

Hezekiah University is located in Umudi, Nkwerre in Imo State.

The university is considered one of the worst schools in Nigeria because of its low academic performance and low quality of education. 

2. Spiritan University, Nneochi

Spiritan University is regarded as 2nd worst university in Nigeria because of its low-quality education, poor teaching techniques, and lack of learning facilities. The courses offered are also not accredited.

1. Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences

The National University Commission NUC recognizes Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences as the worst university in the country.

NUC has accredited the institution but, the institution runs many degree programs. that is yet to be accredited by the NUC.

The school offers course degrees, which include Medicine, Human Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, Pharmacology, etc.
