As an agency of the Nigerian government established in 1990 to regulate and control the enforcement of drug law activities across Nigeria, the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency strives to recruit qualified candidates who will positively contribute to the commission. 

You have applied for the 2023 batch during the recruitment process. You have also been called for the exam and screening exercise.

At this point, the shortlist is a matter of concern for you. This is why this guide takes you through the official portal of the NDLEA and also how you will stay updated with necessary information.

The Shortlisted Zones

The shortlisted candidates have been zoned according to the 6 geopolitical zones across the country. And They are:

  1. North Central (Middle Belt)
  2. South East
  3. North East
  4. North West
  5. South-South
  6. South West

NOTE that there will be a quota assigned to each state of the federation where the recruitment exercise took place.

Don’t Fall For Fake News

Any information that is not directly from the portal or office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) should not be accepted without proper verification. 

Also, be aware that the NDLEA recruitment and shortlist updates do not come at a fee. So, don’t pay anyone demanding money from you.

To appear on the NDLEA shortlist, you must have taken the exam. The commission will post the names according to the state of application. For example, if you applied and sat for the exam in Oyo state, your name will appear under Oyo state.

The NDLEA will soon announce the shortlist date for 2023. As soon as the date is out, the information will be updated here.

But start preparing for the exercise. You will need to go along with some necessary items. 

Necessary Items and Requirements for the NDLEA Training Exercise 2023 

After you’ve successfully seen your name on the shortlist, the next step to take is to get your items ready. You will have to go with the items for training. These are the items in no particular order:

  • Two pairs of white shorts
  • Two pairs of white round neck vest
  • Sport wears
  • Mosquito net
  • Cutlery
  • Cutlass
  • Two pairs of white canvas
  • Two pairs of white socks
  • Two white pillow cases
  • Two sets of white bedsheet
  • Broom 
  • Bucket
  • 8 recent passport photographs
  • Original and photocopies of credentials

Salary of the NDLEA Officers

The average salary paid to an NDLEA officer by the federal government is from N65,000 to N150,000.

When Will the NDLEA 2023 Shortlisted Candidates be Out?

This is the most important question applicants have been asking. The simple answer is that it will be out soon. The shortlist usually comes shortly after the screening and exam exercise.
